Another First for International Hobo

It gives me great pleasure to announce that my article entitled "Writing for videogames: a guide for the curious" appears on p400 of the new edition of the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook. This makes me the first game writer to be given an article in the prestigious guide, where I appear alongside Neil Gaiman and J.K. Rowling. This is probably the only time in my life when I'll get to claim that!
On the (Silk) Road to Beta
And as if that wasn't momentous enough, I'm very pleased to report that we have shipped our final Alpha version of Silk (if you're an Alpha tester, you'll find the build in the usual place) and are now officially on our way towards Beta. We should have a Beta version to share with our Kickstarter backers before the end of the month...
Wishing Patrick Godspeed and K'plah!
It's that time again when staff at game developers jiggle their positions, and this year our hardworking producer Patrick Hargreaves has moved on up to the big leagues, joining 505 Games as a producer. He's been a real trooper at International Hobo, but we knew we couldn't keep him forever. Best of luck in the new job, Patrick! Sean Delaney and Shannon Hamilton are our new producers here, and they have big shoes to fill - but they only have to get into one shoe each, which will make it much easier for them.
Patrick is immortalised as the male Parthian Rider in Silk (pictured left), so keep an eye out for him while you're playing the game!
The Narrative Design Survival Guide
If you're at Develop in Brighton next week, make sure you come to my talk "The Narrative Design Survival Guide" in Room 2 at 12 noon. Also, if you are in Develop, let me know as I'd love to meet up for a drink and a chat!
Foreshadowing....
I'll be making an announcement at Develop about Silk... it might be something to do with a publisher. It might even come with a release date. But you'll have to wait until next week to find what it is.
Thanks for all your support,
Chris.
