Game Writing Manuscript Submitted

Dear friends,
It gives me great pleasure (actually: huge relief!) to report that the manuscript for Game Writing: Narrative Skills for Videogames (Second Edition) has been submitted to Bloomsbury and is now in production. I've spent many hours at the coalface with this one, and I'd like to thank fellow ihobo stalwart Neil Bundy for following me into the dungeon on this one.
Say goodbye to the original cover (left), as something new this way comes!
We'll let everyone know when Bloomsbury deigns to let us know a release date for this one, but I reckon we're looking at 2021, all things considered.
My infinite and unlimited gratitude to everyone who helped with the second edition (that's over a hundred different people)!
Silk Landscape Map Released
Just let out the door today, a 300 ppi landscape map of the world of 200AD in Silk. You can find it on the Steam page for the game, or via the devblog. Alas, including that link means that some of you won't get this newsletter as it will be filtered as spam, but so be it.
The map does contain spoilers, but as it says on the devblog, we felt that if it was still the 1980s, some magazine would have put a map out by now so we ought to release something!
Silk v1.6 Forthcoming
In yet more Silk news, I've had a chat with Nathan and Jamie (the programmer and artist - both have moved onto other games companies), and we're going to release a new release of the game this Summer, which will add 'camp on demand', 'hold to move', and possibly another small feature. Once again, the devblog has the details.
Reminder: Discord Server
And since we're already likely to be filtered as spam, a reminder that we do have an ihobo games Discord server where you can discuss Silk, Requia Noir (the Discworld Noir spiritual successor), and Haunters, Inc (the Ghost Master spiritual successor). It's low traffic, but very friendly.
Our hearts go out to the peaceful protesters in the US, those in Hong Kong not permitted to protest, the people of El Salvador and Guatemala suffering from terrible storm damage, and everyone suffering mental health problems in lockdown. You're not alone, we're all in this together.
Hang in there everyone,
Chris and the ihobo games team.
